Baseball: Broomfield bows out of 5A state tourney

After winning the Class 5A state championship in 2022, Broomfield baseball entered this year’s final tournament as the odds-on favorite to repeat that feat this spring. Cherokee Trail and Mountain Vista had other plans.

After months of battling the weather and tough competition, the final eight teams have been set in Class 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A baseball. Of those 32 remaining squads, all of whom won their regional tournaments, three hail from Broomfield and Lafayette.
