
Class 5A
Max Heins, a senior at Centaurus, earned a spot on CHSAA’s second team all-state list after placing 13th with a time of 16:06.80 at the state meet to help lead his team to state runner-up in its first year at 5A. For that, he earned the Daily Camera runner of the year. Erie senior Evan Kraus made honorable mention after placing 16th at state (16:13.50) and winning the 5A Region 3 and Windsor Wizards Invitational races.
Centaurus junior Jacob Schwarting made honorable mention with 21st place at state (16:16.80) and second-place finishes at the Northwest Open Space 5K PR Challenge and the Arvada West Durden Invitational. Fairview senior Gordon Nilsen placed 22nd at state (16:17.70) and fifth at the 5A Region 3 meet.
Fairview senior Jake Zajac placed 26th after finishing sixth at the 5A Region 3 race. Monarch senior Sam Kapner was the last to add his name to the honorable mention list with 29th place at state (16:22.80) and finished seventh at the 5A Region 3 race.

Class 4A
Mead senior Nolan Hoffman stunned the competition when he won the Class 4A state meet with a time of 15:31.40, and rightfully earned runner of the year honors from CHSAA. Niwot freshman Rocco Culpepper added his name to second team with 10th place (16:01.90) after winning 4A Region 3.
Niwot’s Carlos Kipkorir Cheruiyot began the local honorable mention list with 15th place at state (16:08.00) after finishing third at the Longs Peak League meet. Mead junior Ben Mayer followed right behind him at 16th (16:11.10) after placing second at the Mead Stampede, Liberty Bell and RE-1J District meet.
Niwot senior Jeremy Gillett managed 19th (16:23.90) and placed third at the RE-1J District meet. Niwot sophomore Gavin Engtrakul claimed 25th (16:33.90) and placed ninth at the Longs Peak League meet.

Class 3A
Peak to Peak sophomore Jack Cerullo made first team after he wowed at the state meet by finishing fourth (16:12.70) and adding five other top-six finishes throughout the regular season. Jefferson Academy junior Sean Beasley claimed a spot on second team after he impressed at ninth (16:22.00) and won the St. Vrain cross country invitational.
Prospect Ridge Academy senior Logan Goodman also made second team, thanks to his 10th-place finish (16:22.30) and earlier wins at the Broomfield Battle, Liberty Bell, 3A Metro League championship and 3A Region 3 races.
Holy Family senior Anthony Haberkorn began the local honorable mention list at 26th (17:05.40) and placed third at the Mead Stampede. Jefferson Academy sophomore Rylan Mills rounded it out at 30th (17:12.80) and placed fourth at the Broomfield Battle.
Class 2A
Lyons’ senior and junior duo, Cole Thomas and Sage Wynja, both made second team after finishing 11th (16:53.20) and 12th (17:00.80), respectively.
