
FIRST TEAM
200 medley relay — Legacy (Jack Tran, Max Kulbida, Kyle Raskay, Tegan Barrier): The Lightning relay swam the second-fastest time in the state, going 1:31.02 in taking runner-up at the Class 5A championships.
200 freestyle — James Story, Fr., Silver Creek: The uber-talented freshman took second in the event at the 4A state tournament, going 1:43.95. He was also third in the 100 freestyle and led two relays to third-place finishes.
200 individual medley — Sam White, Jr., Legacy: The first-team all-state swimmer took bronze in the event at state, going 1:51.40. It was the fifth-fastest time in the state this past season.
50 free — Tegan Barrier, Jr., Legacy: He took bronze in the event at state and also had a sixth-place finish in the 100 freestyle, helping lead the Lightning to a third-place finish. He also anchored their state-winning 200 freestyle relay.
Diving — Jacob Dowlin, Sr., Silver Creek: Jacob finished seventh in 4A dive, while his brother Joshua took eighth. The senior’s final dive score was 399.80.
100 butterfly — Kyle Raskay, Sr., Legacy: The BoCoPreps.com swimmer of the year won a state title in the 200 free relay and had runner-up finishes in the 50 free, 100 fly and 200 medley relay.
100 freestyle — Layton Sealman, So., Fairview: The breakout sophomore finished third in the event at state, going 46.11. He also finished fourth in the breaststroke.
500 freestyle — James Kershaw, So., Fairview: Kershaw had the 15th-best time in the state, going 4:47.55 at the state meet.
200 freestyle relay — Legacy (Kyle Raskay, Aidan Shepston, Sam White, Tegan Barrier): The four led Legacy to the fastest time in the state at 1:23.02 en route to the program’s first relay state title.
100 backstroke — Gavin Keogh, Fr., Monarch: The Coyotes freshman finished sixth in the event at state, posting the state’s 10th-fastest time of the season at 51.55. He and fellow freshman Ethan DiFronzo have the Monarch program on the rise.
100 breaststroke — Max Kulbida, Sr., Legacy: Kulbida was a part of the team’s 200 medley relay runner-up finish and scored more state points in the 200 IM and breaststroke. In the breaststroke, he finished 12th with a time of 58.17.
400 free relay — Legacy (Sam White, Aidan Shepston, Tegan Barrier, Kyle Raskay): The relay had the third-fastest time of the season earlier in the year at 3:06.11 and finished third at the state meet.
Coach of the year — Debbie Stewart, Silver Creek: The coach that makes the most of depth over top-end talent, led the Raptors to a runner-up finish in 4A. The Raptors finished inside the top 20 at 25 different spots.
