With the accuracies of the local meteorologists on point, after all, Monday’s slate of Season B playoffs has been pushed back at least a day to Tuesday, including the Class 3A state swimming championships and quarterfinal action of playoff basketball.

The Class 3A state meet will take place on Tuesday, with a schedule of events going much earlier than what was originally slated. Now, the diving competition at the Veterans Memorial Aquatics Center in Thornton will begin at 7:30 a.m.; swimming events will begin at around 10:15 a.m. Locally, the move impacts the Holy Family swim and dive team.

The Holy Family girls basketball team was also affected, as they were slated to host Grand Junction Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday as part of the Class 4A quarterfinals. That game will take place Tuesday, also at 4:30 p.m.

Longmont’s boys (at home against Pueblo Central) will play Tuesday at 6 p.m.; Mead’s boys were set to play at Lewis-Palmer on Monday; and Erie’s girls are now going to play at Green Mountain Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Also, the entirety of the CHSAA basketball semifinals will be moved to Thursday, and the championships that were set for Friday — which included 4A boys and girls title games — will be played Sunday at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs.
