Fairview’s No. 3 doubles team of Jake Wicks, left, and Maxim Kokoshinsky made the 5A state final match this fall.

Ben Bicknell, Sr., Niwot: The senior went a perfect 10-0 in the regular season matches listed on MaxPreps and then got all the way to the No. 3 singles finals before bowing out.

Riley Burridge, Sr., Dawson School: Burridge dominated through the regular season and finished a win away from clinching a spot in the 4A No. 1 singles title game.

Michael Conde, Sr., Monarch: The Coyotes’ fourth-year ace won his region and his first-round match at the 5A state tournament. He bowed out to eventual-state champ Morgan Schilling of Regis Jesuit.

Henry Matheson, So., Longmont: The Trojans sophomore made a seamless jump from No. 2 singles to the top spot this year. He won his first-round match at state before falling to Mac Caldwell of Mullen in the 4A quarterfinals.

Luke Silverman, Jr., Fairview: Silverman’s high school career continued its ascent. He made the No. 1 singles final in 5A. The year before, he jumped up from doubles play and won a match at the state tournament.

Conner Smith, So., Monarch: The next apparent ace to Michael Conde in 2020, Smith was electric during his sophomore season. All three of his defeats in 2019 came to No. 2 players who had lengthy runs in the state tournament.

Neil Wilcox, Jr., Niwot: The back-to-back BoCoPreps.com player of the year, who thought overconfidence cost him a shot at a 2018 title, was smooth through the Class 4A bracket this year. He won all but two games through the semifinals, then claimed the final two sets in the finals to rally and beat Cheyenne Mountain’s Joey Geisz.

Ivan Calderon, Jr./ Anton Lavrouk, Sr., Niwot: The Cougars’ No. 1 duo reached the semifinals before bowing out to the eventual-state champs from Mullen.

Ryan Grayson, Sr./ Brody Pinto, Jr., Fairview: The duo hoped to reach a state final after a strong regular season, but unexpectedly fell in three sets to Valor Christian in the quarterfinals.

Maxim Kokoshinsky, Sr./Jake Wicks, So., Fairview: The only pairing from the area to make a state finals match, they fell to the team from Cherry Creek in the finals.

Xavier Moy, Jr./ Luke Weber, Fr., Niwot: Moy and Weber, the team’s No. 2 pairing, bowed out in the state semifinals.
