Daily Camera:

Isaac Roberts, Lyons cross country: Chasing titles all four years at the 2A cross country meet, Roberts lived up to lofty personal expectations Saturday and captured that elusive championship, finishing in 16:19.

Helen Cross, Nederland cross country: The senior didn’t quite re-live 2017 at the state meet, but her second-place finish in the 2A girls race with a time of 19:34 represented a fantastic end to her prep career.

Cruz Culpepper, Niwot cross country: Culpepper crossed the finish line at the 4A state race with both hands holding up a pair of fingers, representing two titles for one of the area’s elite runners. Niwot also won the team title, which eluded them last year.

Madysun Vaughan, Erie softball: Cinderella wore orange and black to the ball — and Vaughan had herself a state tournament to remember as a senior. The infielder smacked four home runs in two days, and her five RBI in the title tilt against Golden had that glass-slipper feel.
