Fernando Ruiz, Centaurus soccer: The Warriors overcame a strong Thompson Valley effort last Thursday, and it was Ruiz that provided the offense with a pair of exceptional goals in the first half. The senior is up to nine goals this season.

Jordan Warner, Boulder volleyball: The Panthers went 1-1 this week and Warner was a big part of the dynamic offense for BHS in her setter role. She had 42 assists in a three-game sweep of Monarch, also contributing eight digs and six kills against the Coyotes.

Times-Call

Nick Knobel, Dawson School soccer: The Mustangs, always a force in the 2A ranks, caught a nice groove last week with three wins, and the sophomore Knobel had a huge week in the offense. No stats were reported for win No. 3 on Saturday, but Knobel had two goals in a 3-2 win against DSST: Montview and then scored twice more and assisted on two more goals in a blowout win against Prospect Ridge.

Caitlin Volkmann, Silver Creek volleyball: Volkmann was unstoppable this week in two tough matches against Niwot and Greeley Central — both wins — and the senior is once again near the top of the leaderboards in kills about halfway through the season. She had 31 kills in a five-setter against the Cougars and then came around and hit .417 in a sweep against the Wildcats.
