Liam Flanagan, Niwot football: The Cougars got the all important first win of the season at home against George Washington, and Flanagan was the workhorse with 30 carries for 210 yards, three touchdowns and a pair of two-point conversions.
Sam Anthony, Fairview volleyball: The Knights showed up strong at the Regis Jam Tournament, winning it all with great balanced effort. Anthony, however, seemed to do a little of everything and finished with 46 digs, 109 assists, six blocks and a 96.3 percent serve rate with 11 aces.

Times-Call

Jake Wachter, Mead football: In a blowout of Lewis-Palmer on the road, Wachter had an interception, a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and a rushing touchdown to get his season started.

Abigail Stoops, Skyline volleyball: The Falcons swooped through the Thornton volleyball tournament with a 4-0 record (8-0 in sets played), and Stoops tallied 32 digs, 22 kills, four blocks and four service aces to lead the way.
