The Boulder Valley girls lacrosse program, which had been hosted by Centaurus High School, will be moving to Fairview this spring.

The girls lacrosse program in Boulder Valley School District is moving from from Centaurus to Fairview this upcoming spring season.

Centaurus athletic director Emmy Murphy and Fairview athletic director Terrin Kelly each confirmed the change.

The move coincides with the new hockey program at Centaurus, which was also announced on Thursday. Fairview didn’t yet host a district team, and because the majority of the players from the past five years were from the Boulder area, the decision was made to move the program to Fairview.

“I had some girls that I knew were playing lacrosse, and they were gung-ho about it, and we were willing to take on the challenge of starting the program,” Kelly said. “We’re going to take care of the girls, and going to coordinate with our boys team.”
