OH/RS — Rylee Anderson, Sr., Silver Creek: Averaged more kills per set (5.6) this year than last and stepped up in serve and serve-receive for SCHS.

OH/RS — Mackenzie Fidelak, Sr., Niwot: The player of the year floated roles throughout the season, helping the Cougars to the 4A semifinals.

MB — Mya Michaelson, Sr., Erie: Led the Tigers in kills for a third straight season, this time with a .420 hitting percentage. Added 43 blocks.

OH/RS — Rachel Kusbel, Sr., Longmont: The senior finished 11th in the state with 398 kills and she added 55 aces for the Trojans.

OH/RS — Ali Travis, Jr., Holy Family: Upped her efficiency to a .340 hitting percentage while tallying 384 kills, and also had 54 blocks and 342 digs.

DS/L — Peyton Frank, So., Holy Family: Constantly battling tough attackers, Frank finished sixth in Colorado with 588 digs in her first full season at libero.

DS/L — Sarah Stevelinck, Sr., Lyons:‘s Class 2A player of the year had 526 digs in 2017 but stepped to the plate against the toughest competition to help Lyons to the state title.

S — Kylen Christiansen, Jr., Lyons: The versatile setter had 977 assists (105 of those in the semifinal and championship) for LHS, and also had a hefty 120 kills in a 5-1 system.

COACH — Mason Johnson, Lyons: After knocking on the door for the past couple of seasons, Johnson realized the potential of a great mix of players from sophomores to seniors and pushed the right buttons to nab the 2A title after the team had been pushed to the brink of elimination in the state tournament’s pool play round.
