Brittney Beetcher, Fairview girls swimming: Leading the Knights to a runner-up finish in the team scoring at the Class 5A girls swimming state championships, she defended her titles in both the 200 freestyle (1:50.46) and the 500 freestyle (4:57.58) at VMAC on Saturday.
Aiden Funk, Legacy wrestling: Ranked fourth in Class 5A by On the Mat, he won a narrow 3-2 decision against Chatfield’s Earl Camer Manzaneres at the Region 2 tournament to qualify for this weekend’s state championships in the 160-pound weight class.
