Nice to know: The Mustangs have had quite a turnaround in the past two years, going for more wins (27) than the previous seven years combined. This year they’ve outscored teams by nearly a 3-to-1 clip (173-63). … Dawson beat ranked Dayspring twice in three weeks, further legitimizing their candidacy as a state contender. Beating Resurrection Christian two times put Dawson in new territory in program history, as well. … In addition to his two home runs, Fulkerson has 13 other extra base hits and also has 15 stolen bases.

Nice to know: Limon is a school that has churned out good athletics for decades. The Badgers are known for a 50-game football win streak in the mid-2000’s. … Baseball-wise, they’ve won two state titles including in 2010. … Stephen is also the team’s pitching ace, going 10-2 with a 1.85 ERA. … The team has reported 107 stolen bases on MaxPreps.

Nice to know: Paonia is very much a baseball powerhouse in the small school ranks with six state titles, but the Eagles have come up empty since 2003. … The team scored 293 runs, scoring 19 or more five times. Even in playoffs they’ve notched 35 runs. … Another mind-blowing stat? Paonia has three players with at least seven bombs and 32 as a team — seven more than any other team in the state.

Nice to know: The Cougars reside in the northeastern corner of Colorado and are looking for their first baseball state title. … The team has scored 290 runs so far this year with a 4-3 loss to Haxtun as their only setback. They exacted revenge on Haxtun with an 11-4 districts win. … While Dunker has the most wins on the team, Woodhams and Dunker both have sub-2.00 ERA’s in 68 combined innings pitched. … The Cougars have three straight 20-win seasons.
