The St. Vrain Valley School District announced through it’s website Friday afternoon that it was “cancelling all Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17 activities including home and away games.”

This marks the third time during the spring sports season that a storm has forced the cancellation or postponement of a large portion of the prep schedule.

One of the biggest local events of the spring season, the Boulder County Track and Field Championships, was scheduled to be ran Saturday at Broomfield High School, but was preemptively moved earlier in the week in anticipation of the storm to next Wednesday, April 20, at Longmont High School.

Opening ceremonies of the meet will start at noon at Everly-Montgomery Field with field events expected to start around 12:50 p.m. and running events set to go off at 1 p.m. The meet is scheduled to run until about 7:40 p.m. that night.
