LEGACY 30, MONARCH 14

At Legacy HS

While the score was close at halftime, Legacy (5-1 league, 6-3 overall) was able to pull away in the third quarter, outscoring Monarch (1-5, 1-7) by 14 points. Monarch held the ball for nearly twelve minutes from the end of the third into the fourth, but was not able to execute against the Lightning defense.

Legacy relied on heavily on the passing game from quarterback Matt Lynch, who threw for 108 yards. Monarch sought offensive progress from the running of Alex Bradfield.

Monarch will play their final regular season game at Spangenberg Field next week against Rocky Mountain. Legacy will go on the road to take on Fairview.

Mead, who was ranked No. 10 on the latest CHSSAnow.com poll, had little trouble in overcoming Northridge (2-3 league, 2-6 overall) in the Mavericks’ senior night victory. Mead (4-1, 7-1) led for the entirety of the game, with the smallest gap being a score of 16-8 in the beginning of the second half.

Mead will seek to knock of No. 8 ranked Holy Family in a game on the road. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Frederick was unable to put a stop to Berthoud’s strong offense, dealing with a 33-0 first quarter deficit.
