Gabe Chavez, Skyline, soccer: A senior captain, Chavez helped keep the Falcons undefeated, scoring two goals and assisting on another in a 9-0 drubbing of Mead.
Girls peak performers
Jane Polyard, Monarch, softball: In a tough 7-6 loss at Poudre, Polyard went 3-for-3 with a triple, three runs scored and a pair of RBI.
Brennan Thomas, Broomfield, softball: Thomas, a junior, went 4-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI as the Eagles soared past Loveland 11-8.
Alumni update
• Tyger Roch, a 2015 graduate of Monarch High School, was recently named the male Rookie of the week for the Patriot League. Roch, a freshman at American University, finished 10th overall at the Mt. Saint Mary’s Duels, held Sept. 4. Roch finished the 5K course in 16:18.6 and helped the Eagles to a top 11 finish.
