Porter Milner and the Broomfield Eagles boys soccer team will begin the season ranked first in the CHSAANow.com preseason 5A rankings.

The Colorado High School Activities Association released its full array of fall preseason state polls, and BoCoPreps.com-area teams permeated each and every list.

However, the locals shined the brightest in the Class 5A boys soccer poll,
which included defending state champ Broomfield, Boulder, and Fairview comprising the top three. Niwot is ranked sixth in 4A and Peak to Peak is seventh in 3A.

Broomfield (3) and Legacy (9) each landed in the 5A softball poll, while Longmont-area schools once again ruled the 4A poll with defending state runner-up Frederick (2), Erie (3) and Niwot (10) all appearing in the top 10. Skyline is ranked fifth in the 3A softball poll.

In volleyball, Fairview is ranked ninth in 5A, Niwot is ranked 10th in 4A, and Lyons is ranked sixth in 2A.

The first AP media poll for football is scheduled to be released Tuesday.
