Destiny Lalaguna, an outside back for the Longmont girls soccer team, will play at Sheridan College next season.

Longmont outside back Destiny Lalaguna helps hold down the back end for the Trojans girls soccer team.

Next year, she’ll do the same for the Sheridan College.

Lalaguna recently made it official with the Generals and head coach Stefan Skillman.

“We are excited to have Destiny play for us next year,” Skillman said. “She is a very smart player. She has a great amount of playing experience and the ability to play multiple roles, which will be very useful.”

Lalaguna has played outside back and winger for Longmont and her club team, the Broomfield Blast. Longmont closed the regular season Monday with a 9-5-1 overall record and a 5-1-1 mark in the Northern League. The Trojans are awaiting a postseason matchup.

Lalaguna’s brother, Forrest, advanced to state as a heavyweight wrestler at Centaurus in February. While at Sheridan College, she plans to immerse herself into the athletic training field.
