The Broomfield girls soccer program continued to prove itself to be one of the state’s top-ranked teams with a 2-0 win over Poudre on Thursday afternoon. According to the latest rankings, the Eagles (8-0-0) are ranked fourth in Class 5A girls soccer.

After a scoreless first half, the Eagles capitalized on offensive opportunities in the second half to gain the home win. Broomfield relied on junior Makena Bambei and sophomore Kendyl McGinnis to finish off Poudre. Junior Michaela Stark also had an assist for the Eagles.

Broomfield will seek to climb the ranks and remain undefeated in their next game on the road against Fairview (5-1-1) in a pivotal Front Range League showdown. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
