Cole Polluconi, Monarch wrestling: In one last tune-up before regionals, the Coyotes had a strong showing at the Eaton Invitational dual tournament last Saturday. Polluconi, a freshman, was one of three MHS athletes to go 5-0, and his day in the 120-pound weight class included a couple of pins and a technical fall. The youngster is one name to watch for over the next couple of weeks.
Girls
Denali Pinto, Fairview basketball: The Knights are playing very well again within the Front Range League with four straight wins, and Pinto had two solid outings in wins over Horizon and Mountain Range last week. She poured in 15 points against the Hawks in a 15-point win, and then followed that up with 12 points against the Mustangs. In both contests, the freshman hit three 3-pointers and grabbed six rebounds.
