Ian Scott, Monarch wrestling: Ranked the fourth-best heavyweight in Class 5A by Tim Yount’s On the Mat preseason rankings, the Coyotes junior is proving he deserves to be in the top five early on. After leading the Coyotes to a 41-21 win over Northglenn on Thursday, Scott went 3-0 to win the heavyweight title and help the Coyotes take first place at the Columbine Invitational on Saturday.




Gabi Hamm, Fairview girls swimming: The junior swimmer played a major scoring role in the Knights’ first-place team finish at the Oly Invitational on Saturday. Not only did Hamm win the 100 freestyle in 2 minutes, 12.05 seconds and win the 100 freestyle in 59.63, she also swam in the 400 freestyle relay that took first in 4:03.77.
