Some extra news and notes from the world of preps sports.
• Monarch golfer Delaney Elliott was one of 11 Colorado junior golfers awarded with a spot in the Hale Irwin Elite Player Program. Designed to nurture the careers of top Colorado youth players, recipients receive unlimited use of the practice range and kids course at CommonGround Golf Course in Aurora, as well as use of the championship course when available. Elliott finished in a tie for 21st at the 5A state finals last year.
• Mead softball star Tianna Harper signed a letter of intent to continue her career at Carroll College in Helena, Montana. Harper hit a team-leading .471 for the Mavericks this fall with five home runs, seven doubles, and a team-best 35 RBIs.
• Longmont graduate Scotland Coyle, a senior offensive lineman at CSU-Pueblo, was a first-team selection on the 2014 All-Super Region 4 football team.
• Silver Creek graduate and Regis University soccer defender Danielle Dageenakis was named to the second team of the NSCAA Division II All-South Central Region selections.
