Going into his final game with the Centaurus football team, Matthew Buchler wanted a victory and a performance to remember.

He got one of the two.

The Warriors fell 46-34 at Thomas Jefferson on Saturday, but Buchler capped his stellar career at Centaurus with 201 rushing yards and an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

The 5-foot-5 standout finished his senior season with 1,055 rushing yards, 2,133 all-purpose yards and 15 touchdowns. He added eight interceptions and three fumble recoveries on the defensive side of the ball.

In the finale, junior fullback Felipe Cruz added 147 yards on the ground and two touchdowns for the Warriors, who finished 3-7 and 1-4 in the Class 3A Metro North League.
