COLORADO SPRINGS — Dallas Frisbie had been to the state cross country meet three times, two at the Norris-Penrose Event Center, so Saturday wasn’t about nerves for the Peak to Peak senior.
It was about cracking the top 10 for the first time.
Frisbie did better than that, registering a fifth-place finish in the Class 3A meet with a time of 21:18.9. It paved the way to a fourth-place overall finish for the Pumas girls.
“I’ve watched this course on YouTube, I’ve ran it countless times,” Frisbie said. “I knew where I wanted to make the moves and my teammates were out there pushing me too, so that was very helpful.”
Knowing it was her final high school race, Frisbie focused on making it one to remember. Mission accomplished.
“I’m very proud,” Frisbie said. “Of our girls and I’m proud of how I finished.”
On the boys side, Peak to Peak finished ninth. Junior Alex Mowery was the Pumas’ top finisher in 25th place with senior Calvin Riss close behind at 28th.
