Spencer Lang, Niwot tennis: After a long wait since he won a No. 3 singles state championship as a freshman, the Cougars senior went out of top at last weekend’s Class 4A state tournament. In the No. 1 singles championship match, Lang defeated Kent Denver’s Willie Gold 6-4, 6-2 to claim the top title in his final prep tennis match.

Tianna Harper, Mead softball: In a tense situation at the 4A Region 7 tournament, the senior captain’s leadership shined through.
