Fairview High graduate Sam Martin left high school football in Colorado as the state’s all-time leader in catches and yards in a single season.
Now a freshman at Miami University in Ohio, Martin is back on the record-setting path.
During a 42-41 comeback for the RedHawks against the University of Massachusetts Minutemen on Saturday, Martin matched the school’s record for receiving touchdowns in a single game.
Hauling in four scores, Martin tied the record set by Andy Schilling against Central Michigan on Nov. 1, 1986. Martin finished Saturday’s game with 111 receiving yards on eight catches.
Martin was named BoCoPreps.com football Player of the Year his senior season at Fairview High School after making 112 receptions for 1,860 yards.
