Johnny Feauto, Fairview football: In his debut as the Knights’ full-time starting quarterback, Feauto didn’t disappoint. Despite a slow start for the team, Feauto helped rally the Knights to score 30 unanswered points and beat Grand Junction 58-28. The Knights senior completed 22 of 36 passing attempts for 414 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran for 122 more yards and a fifth score as Fairview posted 712 yards of total offense — the 10th-best single-game total in state history.

Elizabeth Potter, Silver Creek volleyball: In two matches against 2013 title contender Holy Family and cross-town rival Skyline, both five-set nail-biters, Potter was the difference. The senior outside hitter totaled 34 kills between the two matches to help the Raptors open the 2014 season with a pair of wins.
