Skyline coach Kevin Rice is bringing a fresh approach to both sides of the ball as the Falcons move into Class 4A

SKYLINE FALCONS

COACH: Kevin Rice (8th year, 14-55 record).

LAST YEAR: 2-7, 0-5 Class 3A Tri-Valley League.

RETURNING STARTERS: Matt Bulow (Sr., WR/DB, 5-11, 180); Joe Dixon (Sr., OL/LB, 5-11, 220); Justin Forsyth (Sr., WR/DB, 6-2, 165); Damian Galaz (Sr., RB/DB, 5-10, 170); Dylan Kram (Sr., RB/DB, 5-7, 160); Dominic Mansanares (Sr., QB/LB, 6-1, 185); Nate Rivera (Sr., OL/DL, 5-11, 220); Ilan Rodriguez (Sr., RB/DL, 5-11, 200); Seth Thomas (Sr., RB/DB, 5-8, 180); Zach Tovar (Sr., OL/DL, 5-10, 170).

OTHERS TO WATCH: Josh Angstead (Sr., QB/TE/DB, 6-1, 180); Elias Archuleta (Sr., OL/DL, 5-9, 205); Adriel Compian (Jr., OL/LB, 5-11, 175); Matt Dietz (Jr., TE/DE, 6-4, 195).

COLLEGE PROSPECTS: Forsyth, Galaz, Mansanares, Thomas.

MUST-SEE GAME: Oct. 10 vs. Silver Creek.

STRENGTHS: A large group of seniors who’ve been playing together for years are eager to go out successful, and there is depth in the skill positions for a more simplistic gameplan.

WEAKNESSES: There is a lack of depth and experience along the lines, and a number of athletes are learning new positions on the go. The team needs to learn how to avoid getting down big early.
