It’s no secret that the Monarch football team will have a new quarterback this season. The Coyotes also will have a new QB coach.

Head coach Phil Bravo went to the past for the hire, nabbing a former pupil from his Centaurus days. Josh Sosa was the QB on Centaurus’ 1995 squad that finished state runner-up to Green Mountain and was recently added to the Coyotes’ staff.

It will be Sosa’s first high school coaching gig.

Monarch opened up its typically run-based attack at times last season with Jay MacIntyre operating the offense. With MacIntyre now at the University of Colorado as a skill-position player, junior Zack Berohn is slated to take over the offense.

MacIntyre’s younger brother, Jonston, a sophomore, also will be in the mix.
