The Holy Family girls soccer team, seeded No. 5 in Class 3A, had little trouble in its second round match of the state playoffs, getting four scores from four different Tigers in the team’s second consecutvive 4-0 victory.

A day after knocking off Estes Park in the first round, the fifth-seeded Tigers bested the No. 12 Wildcats to advance to the quarterfinals. Junior Hannah Disberger, Freshman Taryn Cook and sophomores Valeria Patino and Claire Schaffer all netted goals in the contest, while Patino also assisted on two scores.

The win sets up a showdown with Kent Denver for a shot the semis. That match will take place on May 15.

Facing the No. 3 seed in Class 4A, the Silver Creek girls soccer team was unable to keep pace, falling 4-1 on the road to Sand Creek in the second round of the state playoffs.

Amanda Timmermeyer scored two goals for the Scorpions, who pushed their record to 14-2-1 on the year.

The Raptors season comes to a close with a mark of 11-4-2.
