Erie’s Kevin McClanahan is competing in the Arcadia Invitational this weekend.

Erie track and field standout Kevin McClanahan always enjoys increased competition. He had plenty on his hands this weekend at the Arcadia Invitational.

The Los Angeles-based meet is a who’s who of track and field athletes across the country and a difficult field to crack. McClanahan didn’t merely compete, he finished third Saturday in the 200 meter dash in 21.98.

McClanahan’s time trailed only winner Sebastian Feyersinger (McQueen, Nev.), who ran 21.85, and second-place Jordan Jimerson (Union Catholic, N.J.), who finished in 21.94.

McClanahan qualified for three events: The long jump, the 200 meter dash and the 400 meter dash. The long jump competition was held Friday, and McClanahan finished 14th with a jump of 20 feet, 5.25 inches. A time was not listed for McClanahan in the 400.
