There just aren’t enough hours in the day for some people to get their fill of their favorite sports. Nederland High School’s Bailey Kuechenmeister is one of those people.
On Saturday, the Panthers senior midfielder played 70 minutes of a home game for the Nederland girls soccer team against of a Liberty Common. The game started at 11 a.m.
Once the soccer game was completed, Kuechenmeister made the 1-hour, 40-minute drive to Ault, Colo., where she competed in the Highland Invitational track and field meet.
At the Highland Invitational, Kuechenmeister, who also is the three-time state skiing Skimeister MVP award winner, ran a personal-best 12:43.37 in the 3,200-meter run. The time jumped her up to fourth best in Class 2A.
Kuechenmeister probably ran about three miles during the soccer game, raced 81 miles to catch the end of the track meet and ran two miles in PR time on Saturday.
All in a days work.
