Chad Kreuzer, Monarch lacrosse: The Coyotes rode out a 10-8 victory on the road against Chaparral last week as their only game, and Monarch’s balance on offense was a good sign of what direction they want to go. Kreuzer picked up right where he left off last season as the sophomore was directly involved in half the goals, scoring three and adding two assists.

Katie Chavez, Holy Family basketball: Before being selected to participate in The Show this week, Chavez helped the Tigers back into the Class 3A Great 8 with some very respectable all-around numbers. She scored 23 points in a win against Estes Park, an effort that included a perfect 14-for-14 from the line, and then followed that up with 13 points against Cedaredge. In each game, she also tallied seven assists and five steals, giving her nine games of 10-plus points and at least five steals and five assists.
