Cameron Taggart, Monarch hockey: With its back against the wall in the state semifinals against Regis Jesuit, Monach used the power-play to vault itself into the championship contest for the second straight season, and Taggart’s 5-on-3 marker at 9:04 of the third proved as the game-winner Friday at the Denver Coliseum. He had goals in three of the four playoff games and totaled five points for the Coyotes.

Sarah Kaufman, Fairview basketball: Though it was a painful end to the season for Fairview with a second round loss to Denver East, Kaufman capped her fine career with excellent games individually. Against Douglas County and East, she scored above her average, hitting for 19 against the Huskies and 23 against the Angels. She also had 10 total rebounds, five assists and five steals. Kaufman finished her career just 55 points short of 1,000.
