Elise Cranny just keeps cruising right along.
The distance-running standout from Niwot High School added another impressive title on Saturday, winning the women’s junior 6-kilometer race at the USA Cross Country Championships, which were held at Flatirons Golf Course.
The two-time defending Class 4A cross country state champion completed the course in 20 minutes, 13.76 seconds to outpace runner-up Allie Buchalski by 50.94 seconds. Buchalski recently completed her freshman cross country season at Furman, while Cranny signed a letter of intent last week to join the program at Stanford.
Immediately following the race, Cranny traveled to Fort Collins to join her Niwot teammates at the 4A state swimming finals, where she helped the Cougars to finish fifth in both the 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay.
