Justinian Jessup, Longmont basketball: The Trojans had a busy week, but it was a good one as they went 3-0 and won by an average of 27 points. Jessup was tough to defend, and his week was highlighted by a 23-point effort against Broomfield that included a 10 for 12 shooting performance. He scored 11 and 16, respectively, against Niwot and Skyline, and also collected seven rebounds, seven assists and six steals.

Darby Berringer, Erie basketball: Berringer may by just a freshman, but she’s starting to play big minutes in the Tigers’ biggest games. And she’s pouring in points while she’s at it. This past Friday, she set a personal-best with 11 points in a league win against Frederick, going 5 of 9 from the field. Perhaps her best all-around game came the next night against Lincoln, as she went for seven points, three rebounds, four steals and four assists. Erie also beat Roosevelt this week, and Berringer notched six steals in that league victory.
