Be warned, everyone. Jaguars officially are on the prowl in the coverage community.

Beginning next week, our readers will witness a slight change on with the addition of coverage of the Jefferson Academy Jaguars. Given the Jefferson County charter school has moved to Broomfield, and the Jaguars already boast league rivalries with two of our other schools in Holy Family and Peak to Peak, it became obvious it was time to add Jefferson Academy as the 24th school included in the entire coverage area.

Jefferson Academy fans, or simply fans of the always-competitive Class 3A Metro League, will be able to keep tabs on the Jaguars in the pages of the Broomfield Enterprise as well as on our site.

Our followers will notice slight tweaks to the homepage of Like the other schools in our coverage area, Jefferson Academy will have its own school page on our website. Additionally, there soon will be a “Broomfield” link at the top of the site, providing links to the team pages for all four Broomfield schools — Broomfield High, Legacy, Holy Family, and Jefferson Academy.

Broomfield and Holy Family still will retain their links in the “BVSD” and “Private (school)” sections as well.

The Jaguars add a wealth of quality to a region already well-stocked with some of the state’s top athletic programs. The Jaguars’ boys basketball program currently is ranked third in the state’s AP media poll, and the girls team enters the weekend with a solid 10-5 mark. Looking just a bit further ahead, there is excitement brewing over the potential this spring of Jaguars’ girls soccer program.

Rest assured, we’ll definitely be in the house when the Jaguars’ boys basketball squad visits top-ranked Holy Family next Friday, and we’re looking forward to watching the Jaguars continue to settle into their new Broomfield home.
