JUSTINIAN JESSUP, Longmont basketball — Jessup, a sophomore, gave Fort Lupton and Frederick fits a plenty last week as the Trojans went 2-0. Against the Blue Devils, Jessup shot 9 for 12 for 21 points, adding five assists and six steals against just two turnovers. The hot shooting continued against the Warriors with an 8 for 12 night, 23 points, two assists and two more steals.
Girls
MARGARET DAVIS, Silver Creek basketball — The Raptors hopped out to a 3-0 record to start the season with three blowout victories, and Davis was a consistent contributor in each contest. The senior guard posted 18 points against Berthoud and scored 11 and 10 points, respectively, against Wheat Ridge and Roosevelt. Defensively, she totaled 12 steals for the week as Silver Creek executed its trap defense to near perfection.
