    Frederick's Brooklin LeBon.

ALLEN FU, Niwot tennis — The only Cougar to make it through to the Class 4A championship matches last week, Fu had a fantastic run at the state tournament in Pueblo that eventually resulted in a runner-up placing at No. 2 singles. On the first day of play, Fu defeated Nolan Rademacher (Lewis-Palmer) 6-1, 6-2, then in the quarterfinals did not lose a game in a straight-sets win against Silver Creek’s Amulya Srivastava. A tighter match against Dakota Burns (Pueblo Central) still produced a straight-sets win, putting Fu in a final for the first time.

BROOKLIN LeBON, Frederick softball — Needing a push in the Tri-Valley League, Frederick found a couple victories off the heels of a tough five-setter against Brighton and LeBon sparked the Warriors with a little bit of everything. The senior tallied 30 total kills on 50 attempts — her best effort a 13-kill night against Erie — and also added 14 total blocks including seven against Berthoud. Defensively, she also had a 20-dig outing against the Spartans to lead the team in that category.
