JESUS CERVANTES, Skyline soccer — With the Falcons close to wrapping up the Tri-Valley League, Cervantes is just starting to find a groove on offense, scoring three goals in two victories last week. He found the back of the net once in a tight contest against Northridge (a 2-1 win), then tallied another pair to get him into double-digits for the season in a 5-0 win against Frederick. Cervantes had a good start to this week, as well, and is now up to 12 goals for the year overall.

Girls

KEEGAN WERGIN, Silver Creek softball — The Raptors’ bats were hot last week after a 12-7 loss to Mountain View, and Wergin had a season’s worth of RBIs in an amazing three-game stretch. She drove in 11 runs — yes, 11 — as SCHS routed Greeley Central in a doubleheader on Oct. 3, then followed that up with a three-hit, four-RBI afternoon against Thompson Valley to help wrap up third-place in the Northern League. Included in the week was Wergin’s first three home runs of the season, and she also threw in a couple of doubles. She’s hitting .482 for the year.
