Due to the massive flooding in Boulder and Longmont, all athletic events scheduled for Thursday in the Boulder Valley School District and the St. Vrain Valley School District have been postponed.
This includes all home and away events, as well as indoor events such as volleyball. Six area football games on tap for Thursday — Niwot at Monarch, Loveland at Broomfield, Rangeview at Fairview, Centaurus at Roosevelt, Boulder at Poudre, and Nederland at Clear Creek — have been postponed.
The Centaurus game at Roosevelt will be held on Friday at 4 p.m. Fairview’s Thursday home tilt against Rangeview has been moved to Friday at 4 p.m. at Centaurus.
Another football game affected by the area flooding is the Friday night contest between Summit and 3A No. 1 Silver Creek, originally slated to be played at Lyons High School. That game instead will be held Friday at Frederick High School at 7 p.m.
“Football presents a bit of a unique challenge, because you can’t play doubleheaders and it would be a tough turnaround if we moved it to Monday,” Silver Creek coach Mike Apodaca said.
Below is a list of new game times. Check BoCoPreps.com throughout the day for updates to this report.
