BOULDER — It turned out the storm that halted the Boulder-Fairview softball game Thursday wasn’t enough to rain on the Knights’ hit parade.

Picking up where it had left off, FHS (1-1) completed a 17-2 win Friday to earn its first win of the young season. Senior Bailey Flanagan led the way for the Knights, going 3-for-4 at the dish and scoring three runs while driving in four.

The two teams resumed play in the top of third inning with the score standing 8-2 in favor of FHS. Fairview then proceeded to post nine runs in the frame, blowing things wide open. The Knights would ultimately finish with 15 base hits for the game.

Fairview starting pitcher Julia McCue then did her part by holding the Panthers (1-1) scoreless in their final two turns at the plate before the mercy rule ended the affair. McCue allowed just one hit over the course of her four innings of work.

The Panthers now have a short turnaround as they play host to Pomona at 1 p.m. Saturday.
