The Colorado High School Activities Association launched a new era on Thursday as it unveiled a new website, CHSAANow.com.
The site features a wide array of new material, including original news content and features, as well as links to prep sports headlines from news outlets across the state (including our own BoCoPreps.com). The site also boasts easy-to-access navigation to sites specific to each sport, in addition to links for material such as job postings and scheduling requests that schools make in search of games.
In large part the brainchild of Ryan Casey, the former Denver Post prep sports reporter hired by CHSAA earlier this summer to lead the revamping of its online endeavors, CHSAANow.com hopes to provide a fresh outlet for original prep sports content while creating a hub for streamlining prep news from all across Colorado.
“That’s really the idea behind the whole site,” Casey said. “The idea is to cover ourselves and hope people can find a way to find everything. We hope to have a lot of inside-association type news. And the state championships will be big for us.”
There is more to come on the horizon. Casey hopes in the near future to have an extensive state and school records archive available on the site, as well as a thorough history of state championship results.
“We’re developing a searchable database by schools,” Casey said. “Like how many championships a school has won, what year they won them, and the records as well. It’s all still a work in progress.”
