Centaurus lacrosse Sarah Brown also is a notable singer. She and sisters Abby and Audrey (a teammate) perform in a successful group.

Sarah Brown is known as one of the state’s finest goal scorers. The junior for the Centaurus lacrosse team has notched nearly 100 points this season (65 goals, 33 assists).

Freshman sister, Audrey, also is starting to make a name for herself. After battling bronchitis for much of the season, her status is on the rise (27 goals, 12 assists) as the Warriors enter a difficult quarterfinals matchup Wednesday against Kent Denver.

But the Browns had a claim to fame long before their lacrosse prowess came to focus. Just over eight years ago, Sarah and Audrey, along with older sister, Abby, sang the National Anthem at Fenway Park before a Boston Red Sox game.

A recent BoCoPreps.com headline that included “Brown Sisters” reminded their father, Mitch, of the band name they used in their early singing days. The sisters since have changed their name to FlatIron Junction.

Sarah and Audrey attend Boulder High, but play at Centaurus because the Panthers do not have a girls lacrosse team.
