BOYS

JACOB TINNON, Holy Family Baseball — Although there were plenty of offensive stars in a 23-hit, 23-run explosion that led to a pair of victories and a district title for the Tigers, none of them stood taller than Tinnon. In wins against St. Mary’s and Roaring Fork, Tinnon went 5 for 5 with three RBIs, and four runs scored. He blasted a two-run home run during the 12-2 win against Roaring Fork. He also turned in a solid performance during a doubleheader sweep of Bishop Machebeuf earlier in the week, going 2 for 6 with three runs scored and one RBI.

GIRLS

KATIE LI, Fairview girls tennis — The junior made history by winning her third consecutive state title at No. 3 singles, becoming just the eighth player (both classifications, all divisions) to win three consecutive singles state titles in the history of the tournament. Li was nearly eliminated in the semifinals, facing match point on three occasions in the second set against Cherry Creek’s Rachel Scheper before rallying for a three-set victory. Li then posted a 6-2, 6-4 win in the final against Denver East’s Natalia Dellavalle.
