Girls basketball: Highlands Ranch tops Arapahoe to reach 5A title game

BOULDER — Highlands Ranch’s girls basketball team is a bunch of golddiggers. Color the Falcons as prospectors in search of precious metal derivatives spun around a kid’s ball.

Thursday night, the Falcons took awhile but ultimately had enough to outlast Arapahoe 64-54 in the Class 5A final four at the Coors Events Center at the University of Colorado.

Coach Caryn Jarocki’s Falcons will be in their eighth state-championship game — and they have yet to lose.

It’s probably why senior Ciera Morgan, who led all scorers with 17 points, was blunt about stating the annual goal for the southern metropolitan-area program.
