Prep notebook: CHSAA adding Unified game to hoops championship slate

BOULDER SWEEPS BADMINTON CROWNS

Boulder High swept all five titles last weekend to clinch its third team state badminton championship in a row.

Beni Mahat won the boys singles title, while Kate Mooney won the girls crown. Mooney also teamed with Kanako Hokama for the girls double title and Sean Girodo for the mixed doubles title.

Girodo also won the boys doubles title with partner Josh Singh.

CHSAA ADDING UNIFIED GAME TO CHAMPIONSHIP LINEUP

Prior to the 4A and 5A state basketball championship games on Saturday at the Coors Events Center, CHSAA has added a Special Olympics Unified Basketball Exhibition game.

The game between teams from Douglas County and Thomas Jefferson high schools tips off at noon.

Special Olympics Unified Sports is a global program that encompasses male and female athletes with and without intellectual disabilities on the same sports teams to develop friendships and a better understanding of each other’s capabilities.

NEXT-LEVEL HONORS
