AUSTIN RIVERA, Frederick basketball — Rivera more than doubled his usual scoring output while turning in a pair of impressive all-around performances during Frederick’s victories against Pueblo South and Northridge. Against Pueblo South, Rivera made 7 of 14 field goal attempts, including four 3-pointers, before finishing with 18 points and five steals. Rivera, a junior, made 7 of 10 shots against Northridge, finishing with 17 points and five rebounds.
GIRLS
HANNAH DRISCOLL, Niwot swimming — The junior capped an impressive season with a standout performance at the Class 4A state meet. Driscoll was the Cougars’ only entrant in the finals heats, ultimately finishing fifth in the 50 freestyle and eighth in the 100 freestyle. Driscoll also contributed to a pair of school records in the freestyle relay events, leading the Cougars to a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:37.97) and a fifth-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay (3:39.01).
