Typically, Anna Prins has caught the spotlight for her deft play in Iowa State University’s front court. But Sunday, the former Broomfield star had the Cyclones’ faithful raising a ruckus over more than her basketball skills.

A crowd ABC News put at 7,000, cheered Prins on as she accepted her boyfriend’s marriage proposal mid-court at the Hilton Center. Ryan De Hamer popped the question to the 6-foot 7-inch center after Iowa State’s win over Alabama State.

De Hamer told the Ames Tribune, he had been planning to make his move at the game for the past few weeks. He even got the team into the action, with Iowa State coach Bill Fennelly giving a short introduction before De Hamer appeared mid court.

As the YouTube video below proves, Prins’ now fiancé did a pretty good job of keeping his intentions under wraps. The center is visibly shocked when he shows up after the win.
