LACY HADDOCK, Longmont volleyball — The Trojans’ standout season ended with a stunning five-set loss against Coronado in the Class 4A state tournament, but Longmont’s sophomore outside hitter enjoyed a strong performance in Longmont’s two tournament games. In the Trojans’ tournament-opening win against Broomfield, Haddock recorded a team-leading 16 kills while also adding 21 digs and a pair of aces. Haddock was just as impressive during the loss against Coronado, recording 10 kills, 21 digs, and three aces.

BEN SJOBAKKEN, Silver Creek football — The junior signal-caller turned in a stellar game as the Raptors recorded a 33-14 win against Elizabeth in the first round of the Class 3A state tournament. Sjobakken completed 14 of 18 passes for 178 yards and three touchdowns, including a 38-yard strike to Zane Lindsey just before halftime that capped a 99-yard drive and gave Silver Creek the lead for good. Although Sjobakken did throw an interception, it was just his first in more than 215 attempts this season.
