ERIE — Following three consecutive losses, the Erie football team needed someone to step up Friday night in order to get its season back on the right track and give the school a win for its homecoming.

Running back Christian Mickey proved to be capable of the task, scoring four touchdowns as the Tigers won their first game in nearly a month, 41-12 over Denver North.

“(Mickey) had a good game,” head coach Larry Gartrell said. “He made some good cuts and had an interception on defense.”

Back Pedro Anderson also contributed to the ground assault, adding two rushing scores in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

“Its good to get a win after the last three weeks,” Gartrell said. “We went out and did what we had to do. We’ve just got to keep getting better and take care of our own destiny.”

The Tigers, who now sit at 5-3 on the year, host Thomas Jefferson next week.
